We encourage yoga on the lawn, quite contemplation and meditation in many tucked away spots. There are places to sit and listen to the river while reading, writing, drawing or painting. Garden strolling is popular. Friendly gatherings on the main deck are frequent. Book an in suite massage, wonderful after a spa in your private garden.

We have two nesting pairs of Osprey on the property, who are very active and boisterous particularly during the late summer when they are teaching their young to fly and fish. Red -tailed Hawk, Bald Eagle and Turkey Vulture are frequently sighted. Peregrine Falcon sometimes get up river this far and are sighted here. There are a family of river otters who often fascinate our guests with their comical behavior. They are shy so you will need to sit quite at the rivers edge to catch sight of them (this is actually the best way to see any of the wildlife.) We often see Doe and usually with their fawns. Waterfowl are abundant and nesting all along the riverside. We have sighted Common Mergansers, Canada Geese, Mallards, Wood Duck and Ruddy Duck. Because we are in the estuary we also often see Sea Lions swimming in the river and Shore Birds like Great Blue Heron, and Egret are plentiful. Songbirds of many varieties are always present.

The Southern Oregon coast has abundant, accessible walk-on beaches. More than any other place on the Pacific Coast. These are frequently deserted by people and rife with wildlife. Visitors are likely to see whales spouting or breaching during their migrations and at low tide many areas have tide pools. There are always the shore birds Yellow Legs, Sandpipers, several species of Gull and Pelicans.

There are a variety of wonderful , unique hikes close by in some of the most unspoiled beautiful landscapes ever. You can choose from upriver "Old Growth Forest" trail or Pacific Ocean seaside trails viewing the Pacific from incredible vantage points, while meandering through wild flowers down to a secluded beach. Longer hikes or short easy hikes are nearby.
